About this template
The Raspberry Double-Border Gala Award is a timeless Gala Award template that competition organisers, schools and clubs use to name a winner and make it official. It is shown here in raspberry, with a double border, Italiana headings and Cormorant Garamond for the smaller text. Change a few words and it doubles as a certificate of appreciation.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
Presented to [Name], champion of [Competition] [Year], with the admiration of every competitor.
In recognition of [Name], whose work was judged best in [Category] by [Judges].
Congratulations to [Name] on Gala Award. A well-deserved win.
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate; the venue fields are already in place, and you can delete the ones you don’t need. It works in landscape or portrait, on A4 or US Letter, without you having to move anything. Fonts can be swapped too; the defaults are Italiana and Cormorant Garamond. The design comes with three colour schemes (Peacock Night, Plum Night and Emerald Night), and every single colour can be changed. There is an Arabic edition too, laid out right to left with El Messiri.
Printing tips
Heavy matte or parchment paper gives it the weight of an official document. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” rather than “Fit”, so the border isn’t cropped. The background is dark, so a laser printer or a print shop will give the richest colour.
