About this template
Here is a classic way to name a winner and make it official: the Olive Seal Academic Excellence Award, a template that suits schools, head teachers and form tutors. It is shown here in olive, with a round seal, Cormorant SC headings and Lora for the smaller text. You will also find it under Achievement and School on CerShare.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
First place: [Name]. Presented at [Event] on [Date] in recognition of an outstanding entry.
Highly commended: [Name], for [Entry title]. The judges were impressed.
Winner of Academic Excellence Award: [Name]. Signed on behalf of the judging panel on [Date].
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate, or keep the sample wording and just change the names. Need portrait instead of landscape, or US Letter instead of A4? Change it in one click. The design comes with three colour schemes (Lamplight Navy, Olive and Brass and Garnet), and every single colour can be changed. Fonts can be swapped too; the defaults are Cormorant SC and Lora. Add your logo, a crest or a photo and drag it into place.
Printing tips
Heavy matte or parchment paper gives it the weight of an official document. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” rather than “Fit”, so the border isn’t cropped. It fits a standard certificate frame or a document folder.
