About this template
Here is a crisp way to thank volunteers for their time: the Gold Wave Disaster Relief Volunteer Certificate, a template that suits councils, neighbourhood groups and civic programmes. The colour scheme you see, Field Olive, is one of three built into the design, with flowing waves at the heart of the layout. It works just as well as a certificate of appreciation.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
Thank you, [Name], for showing up every [Day] and making our community stronger.
Awarded to [Name] for outstanding volunteer service at [Event], [Date].
With heartfelt thanks to [Name] for [120] hours of volunteering at [Organisation] in [Year].
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate; the deployment, days on site and parcels packed fields are already in place, and you can delete the ones you don’t need. Colours are yours to change: try Relief Navy, or match your own brand colours. Fonts can be swapped too; the defaults are Roboto and Barlow. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. You can also upload a logo or a photo and place it anywhere on the page.
Printing tips
Bright white matte paper of 160–200 gsm keeps the colours crisp. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” rather than “Fit”, so the border isn’t cropped. It fits a standard certificate frame or a document folder.
