About this template
Galleries, festivals and arts organisations reach for designs like this one when they want to close a course with something worth keeping: a traditional Calligraphy Course Certificate that looks as good in a frame as it does in a folder. It is shown here in navy, with a bold band of colour, Kalnia headings and Spectral for the smaller text.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
Presented to [Name] for reaching the final lesson of the Calligraphy Course. Well done, and keep practising.
This is to confirm that [Name] attended and completed the Calligraphy Course, led by [Instructor], from [Start date] to [End date].
[Name] has met all the requirements of the Calligraphy Course and is presented with this certificate of completion.
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate; the studio hours fields are already in place, and you can delete the ones you don’t need. Text sizes adjust to fit, and you can choose another font for any line. Prefer another look? Switch to the Iron Gall or Sumi & Seal colour scheme, or pick any colour you like. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. There is an Arabic edition too, laid out right to left with Aref Ruqaa.
Printing tips
A cream, linen-textured paper of around 120 lb text (180 gsm) suits this classic layout. Print one copy on plain paper first to check the spelling and the margins. It fits a standard certificate frame or a document folder.
