About this template
Here is a crisp way to name a winner and make it official: the Burgundy Laurel Certificate of Honour, a template that suits competition organisers, schools and clubs. With a laurel wreath and Pirata One headings, it has a contemporary feel, while the Claret & Gold palette keeps the colours rich. It works just as well as a certificate of achievement.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
This certificate is presented to [Name] for winning [Category] at [Competition].
Congratulations to [Name] on [Award name]. A well-deserved win.
Highly commended: [Name], for [Entry title]. The judges were impressed.
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate, or keep the sample wording and just change the names. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. Fonts can be swapped too; the defaults are Pirata One and Cormorant Garamond. The design comes with three colour schemes (Forest & Wax, Navy & Wax and Claret & Gold), and every single colour can be changed. There is an Arabic edition too, laid out right to left with Rakkas.
Printing tips
Bright white matte paper of 160–200 gsm keeps the colours crisp. Download the PDF at the paper size you will print on (A4 or US Letter) and set the printer to “Actual size” or 100%. Because of the dark background, check your ink first, or send the PDF to a local print shop.
