Here is a formal way to name a winner and make it official: the Black Ribbon Medal of Honour Certificate, a template that suits boards, foundations and award committees. The colour scheme you see, Navy Velvet, is one of three built into the design, with a ribbon at the heart of the layout. Change a few words and it doubles as a certificate of achievement.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
Highly commended: [Name], for [Entry title]. The judges were impressed.
Awarded to [Name], winner of Medal of Honour, [Year].
Congratulations to [Name] on Medal of Honour. A well-deserved win.
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate, or keep the sample wording and just change the names. Colours are yours to change: try Garnet Velvet, or match your own brand colours. Change the font or the size of any line if your text is longer than the sample. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. You can also upload a logo or a photo and place it anywhere on the page.
Printing tips
A cream, linen-textured paper of around 120 lb text (180 gsm) suits this classic layout. Download the PDF at the paper size you will print on (A4 or US Letter) and set the printer to “Actual size” or 100%. Sign it in blue or black ink once it is printed for a personal touch.
