About this template
Schools, managers and club leaders reach for designs like this one when they want to celebrate a goal that has been reached: a crisp Certificate of Merit that looks as good in a frame as it does in a folder. It is shown here in burgundy, Darker Grotesque headings and Host Grotesk for the smaller text. It works just as well as a competition award.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
For [Name], whose hard work turned an ambitious goal into a result we can all be proud of.
Presented to [Name] in recognition of outstanding achievement in [Area] during [Year].
Presented with pride to [Name] for an outstanding achievement, from everyone at [Organisation].
How to customise it
Click any line to change it: the recipient’s name, the wording, the date and the signatures. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. Prefer another look? Switch to the Frost Glass or Sage Glass colour scheme, or pick any colour you like. Fonts can be swapped too; the defaults are Darker Grotesque and Host Grotesk. There is an Arabic edition too, laid out right to left with IBM Plex Sans Arabic.
Printing tips
Use a smooth white paper rather than parchment, so the clean lines stay sharp. Download the PDF at the paper size you will print on (A4 or US Letter) and set the printer to “Actual size” or 100%. It fits a standard certificate frame or a document folder.
