About this template
Here is a formal way to celebrate a goal that has been reached: the Gold Sunburst Visiting Scholar Certificate, a template that suits universities, research groups and academic departments. The colour scheme you see, Navy Trunk, is one of three built into the design, with a sunburst at the heart of the layout. Change a few words and it doubles as a graduation certificate.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
Presented with pride to [Name] for Visiting Scholar, from everyone at [Organisation].
For [Name], whose hard work turned an ambitious goal into a result we can all be proud of.
With congratulations to [Name] for reaching [Milestone], a first for [Organisation].
How to customise it
Click any line to change it: the recipient’s name, the wording, the date, host department, visit and home institution and the signatures. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. Change the font or the size of any line if your text is longer than the sample. The design comes with three colour schemes (Trunk Tan, Canvas Green and Navy Trunk), and every single colour can be changed. Add your logo, a crest or a photo and drag it into place.
Printing tips
For the best result, print on ivory or parchment paper of 160–200 gsm. Print one copy on plain paper first to check the spelling and the margins. Sign it in blue or black ink once it is printed for a personal touch.
