About this template
Martial-arts clubs, dojos and instructors reach for designs like this one when they want to celebrate a goal that has been reached: a traditional Judo Grading Certificate that looks as good in a frame as it does in a folder. With flowing waves and Domine headings, it has a formal feel, while the Red Mat palette keeps the colours fresh.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
For [Name], whose hard work turned an ambitious goal into a result we can all be proud of.
Awarded to [Name] for exceeding expectations in [Project or subject]. Your effort made the difference.
Presented to [Name] in recognition of outstanding achievement in [Area] during [Year].
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate; the new grade, examined in and grading venue fields are already in place, and you can delete the ones you don’t need. Colours are yours to change: try Tatami Straw, or match your own brand colours. Need portrait instead of landscape, or US Letter instead of A4? Change it in one click. Change the font or the size of any line if your text is longer than the sample. Add your logo, a crest or a photo and drag it into place.
Printing tips
For the best result, print on ivory or parchment paper of 160–200 gsm. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” rather than “Fit”, so the border isn’t cropped. It fits a standard certificate frame or a document folder.
