Here is a formal way to record training that has been completed: the Forest Green Chart Deck Officer Training Certificate, a template that suits port operators, maritime academies and shipping firms. The colour scheme you see, Admiralty Green, is one of three built into the design, with chart lines at the heart of the layout. Change a few words and it doubles as a staff award.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
Awarded to [Name] for completing the Deck Officer Training in line with [Standard or policy].
For completing the Deck Officer Training: [6] hours of training, including theory, practice and a final check.
This certifies that [Name] has completed the Deck Officer Training ([4] CPD hours) on [Date], delivered by [Trainer].
How to customise it
Click any line to change it: the recipient’s name, the wording, the date, final noon position, sea service and result and the signatures. Change the font or the size of any line if your text is longer than the sample. Need portrait instead of landscape, or US Letter instead of A4? Change it in one click. Prefer another look? Printing tips
For the best result, print on ivory or parchment paper of 160–200 gsm. Download the PDF at the paper size you will print on (A4 or US Letter) and set the printer to “Actual size” or 100%. Sign it in blue or black ink once it is printed for a personal touch.
