About this template
Whether it is for one person or a whole group, the Ocean Blue Ribbon First Book Read Certificate gives nurseries, early-years teachers and parents a playful way to turn a small victory into a big moment. Trocchi sets the title and Nunito carries the details, with a ribbon giving the page its character. Children can read it themselves: the name is big and the words are friendly.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
This award goes to [Name] for being brave, kind and trying your very best.
Hooray for [Name]! You did it all by yourself, and that deserves a certificate.
Well done, [Name]! Every day you are getting bigger, braver and better.
How to customise it
Click any line to change it: the recipient’s name, the wording, the date, the first book i read all by myself and the signatures. Fonts can be swapped too; the defaults are Trocchi and Nunito. Need portrait instead of landscape, or US Letter instead of A4? Change it in one click. The design comes with three colour schemes (Storybook Red, Teal Cover and Plum Cover), and every single colour can be changed. There is an Arabic edition too, laid out right to left with El Messiri.
Printing tips
Bright white card of about 220 gsm makes the colours pop and stands up to small hands. Download the PDF at the paper size you will print on (A4 or US Letter) and set the printer to “Actual size” or 100%. Sign it in blue or black ink once it is printed for a personal touch.
