About this template
Here is a classic way to close a course with something worth keeping: the Slate Wave Sign Language Course Certificate, a template that suits language schools, libraries and writing groups. Look closely and you will notice flowing waves and leaves and branches, set off by Gelasio lettering in slate grey. It works just as well as a certificate of achievement.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
[Name] finished the Sign Language Course with a final grade of [Grade]. Congratulations on a course well done.
Completed by [Name] on [Date]: the Sign Language Course, including all assignments and the final assessment.
For completing the Sign Language Course and putting new skills into practice from the very first session.
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate; the level and guided hours fields are already in place, and you can delete the ones you don’t need. Fonts can be swapped too; the defaults are Gelasio and Lexend. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. Colours are yours to change: try Coral & Teal, or match your own brand colours. There is an Arabic edition too, laid out right to left with Baloo Bhaijaan 2.
Printing tips
A cream, linen-textured paper of around 120 lb text (180 gsm) suits this classic layout. Download the PDF at the paper size you will print on (A4 or US Letter) and set the printer to “Actual size” or 100%. Sign it in blue or black ink once it is printed for a personal touch.
