About this template
Here is a classic way to put a thank-you in writing: the Gold Crown Academic Advisor Recognition Certificate, a template that suits universities, research groups and academic departments. Brygada 1918 sets the title and Rethink Sans carries the details, with a crown giving the page its character. It works just as well as a certificate of achievement or a graduation certificate.
Suggested wording
Copy one of these lines into the certificate, then replace the words in brackets.
Presented to [Name] with gratitude for sharing your expertise at [Event] on [Date].
This certificate of appreciation is presented to [Name] for outstanding support and dedication.
Presented to [Name] in recognition of a contribution that will be remembered long after [Event].
How to customise it
You can rewrite the whole certificate; the advisees, years advising and faculty fields are already in place, and you can delete the ones you don’t need. Text sizes adjust to fit, and you can choose another font for any line. Choose A4, US Letter or A3, in landscape or portrait, and the layout rearranges itself to fit. Colours are yours to change: try Brass & Teal, or match your own brand colours. There is an Arabic edition too, laid out right to left with Mirza.
Printing tips
A cream, linen-textured paper of around 120 lb text (180 gsm) suits this classic layout. In the print dialog choose “Actual size” rather than “Fit”, so the border isn’t cropped. Sign it in blue or black ink once it is printed for a personal touch.
